We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Director of Data & Analytics to lead a team of analysts and engineers in building and managing our data infrastructure, reporting, and analytics capabilities. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in Azure, Power BI, data warehouse architecture, data pipeline development, and ETL best practices. The ideal candidate will drive innovation in our data strategy, streamline data processes, and enhance business intelligence across the organization.
This role will be evenly split (50/50) between hands-on technical work and strategic leadership, ensuring operational efficiency and long-term data success. The Director will contribute as an individual contributor, handling ad hoc requests, pipeline development, and dashboard building, while also managing and mentoring the team.

Responsibilities & Job Duties (include, but are not limited to):
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
- Recruit, interview, and onboard top talent to build a high-performing data team
- Establish best practices for data governance, engineering, and analytics within the organization
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Services (e.g., Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake)
- Oversee data warehouse architecture, ensuring efficient data modeling, indexing, and performance optimization
- Implement data replication strategies for on-premises and cloud-based environments, ensuring data integrity and reliability
- Drive the adoption of ETL best practices, ensuring data pipelines are efficient, automated, and scalable
Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights for stakeholders
- Collaborate with business leaders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and optimize data-driven decision-making
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with industry regulations
Technology & Innovation
- Integrate machine learning and AI into the data strategy to enhance predictive analytics, automation, and decision-making
- Lead the modernization of legacy data systems, ensuring seamless integration between on-prem and cloud environments
- Optimize data pipelines, storage solutions, and compute resources to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, or PowerShell for data processing, automation, and analytics
- 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
- Expertise in Azure Data Services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Data Lake, or a comparable product such as AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon S3, Google BigQuery, Google Dataflow, Snowflake, or Databricks
- Strong proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard development and DAX calculations, or a comparable data analytics platform such as Tableau, Looker, Qlik Sense, or Google Data Studio
- Deep knowledge of data warehouse design, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with ETL development, data pipelines, and automation
- Familiarity with on-premises to cloud data replication and hybrid data solutions
- Proven ability to recruit, interview, and build high-performing data teams
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly insights
