Position Summary: The Customer Account Manager is responsible for driving new business growth, building strong customer relationships, and managing key accounts to expand Thaler’s market presence. This role focuses on winning new contracts, developing competitive proposals, driving pricing strategies to improve margins, and providing Voice of Customer insights to enhance Thaler’s offerings. The position may be remote or based at the factory, but if remote, the individual must reside within the assigned customer territory.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Driving New Business Growth:
- Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities to meet or exceed annual sales targets.
- Build and execute strategic account plans to expand Thaler’s customer base.
2. Winning Competitive Proposals:
- Develop compelling and competitive proposals in collaboration with engineering, estimating, and program management teams.
- Effectively communicate Thaler’s value proposition to prospective customers.
3. Revenue & Margin Expansion:
- Implement pricing and negotiation strategies to enhance profitability.
4. Technical Sales & Solution Development:
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Work closely with engineering and operations to align capabilities with customer requirements.
5. Voice of the Customer & Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong, multi-level relationships with key decision-makers across assigned accounts.
- Provide real-time customer feedback to internal teams to enhance service and product offerings.
6. Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth:
- Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging customer needs.
- Represent Thaler at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand business leads. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management with direct customer interaction.
- Proven track record of winning new business in the aerospace & defense industry.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong skills in negotiation, proposal development, and value-based selling.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory.
