We are seeking an SMT Technician to join our team at our Clarksburg, MD campus, working on the Second Shift (2:30 PM ET – 12:00 AM ET). This role reports directly to the Manager of Manufacturing. Initial training for this position will take place on the First Shift (6:00 AM ET – 3:30 PM ET) for the first few weeks of employment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate automated SMT equipment including placement machine, screen printer, and Oven.
- Perform off-line review from Automated Optical Inspection (AOI).
- Load and unload parts to tables and feeders.
- Operate CCA washer.
- Follow printed work instructions.
- Read and build assembly drawing along with MWI.
- Handle small precision tools, hardware, etc.
- Follow RoHS requirements.
- Properly sign in on correct PIDs, complete ESD testing, and follow all manufacturing guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain a neat appearance in their work area, reducing FOD when possible.
- Interpret IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
- Keep team lead informed of any build issues.
- Shall be accountable for quality, quantity, and inspection of all work performed.

- U.S. Citizenship required. Applicant may be selected for work that requires ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 – 4 years of equivalent experience.
- Applicant must have familiarity with electronic assemblies, and surface mount assemblies.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
- Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards
- Solder Skills
The hourly pay range for this role is $20.00 - $23.91USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 3%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills
