Position Summary:
Thanksgiving Point is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Event Sales Manager to lead sales efforts for private and corporate events across our unique venues. This role is responsible for generating revenue by identifying and cultivating client relationships, securing new business, and ensuring seamless event execution in collaboration with the Campus Events team. The ideal candidate is an energetic, goal-oriented professional with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth for corporate events, weddings, social gatherings, and other special occasions.
- Identify and build relationships with potential clients through networking, prospecting, and direct outreach.
- Manage inbound event inquiries, conduct venue tours, and tailor event proposals to meet client needs.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to maximize revenue while maintaining Thanksgiving Point’s brand integrity.
- Collaborate with the Campus Events, Catering, and Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of sold events.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, and event bookings in Tripleseat Event Management software.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, event planners, and industry professionals to drive referral business.
- Stay up to date with industry trends to keep Thanksgiving Point competitive in the event market.
- Meet or exceed established sales targets and performance metrics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 years of experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or a related field.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and event management platforms.
- Knowledge of the Utah events market is a plus.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must pass a background check.
