The Amlon Group is a global environmental services company focused on recycling, processing, treatment and management of metal bearing industrial waste streams. Amlon is an organization that reflects the acquisition by Heartwood Partners (Private Equity sponsor) of seven companies within the industrial recycling market in the last 2 ½ years.
We are searching for an Assistant Controller with a strong process improvement background to assist with establishing policies and procedures for the company, highly inquisitive, great interpersonal skills, and is looking for a position where they can immediately jump in to make a positive impact on the company. This position is responsible for implementing changes outlined by the controller, providing guidance to the accounting and operations teams, and internal control development for the company. Follows established company guidelines, processes, and procedures to accomplish business objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Act as the manager for month-end and year-end accounting close
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting department to ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
- Supervise the activities of the accounting staff. Select, develop, motivate, and assess the accounting staff. Train and coach the staff for improved performance and expanded opportunities. Evaluate staff performance and motivate development to the full potential. Establish individual objectives.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of financial results.
- Assess, review, and maintain the accounts payable, billing, cash application and credit/collection processes
- Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts, including review and approval as well as completion of reconciliations for selected accounts.
- Provide adequate and cost effective safeguards to company assets, including ensuring the maintenance and documentation of internal accounting and management controls, providing appropriate assistance to leadership in controlling expenses and maximizing returns to preserve value of the company.
- Identify areas for process improvement and champion these changes.
- Assist in developing and implementing processes and controls to ensure data integrity and accurate financial reporting.
- Take a lead role in critical accounting changes, process improvement projects and accounting software implementations.
- Review and approve staff’s work including journal entries, accounting reconciliations, accounts payable and billing
- Act as the lead for audit related items
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting
- NetSuite experience
- Private equity experience
- 5 years of progressively responsible financial experience
- 4 years of experience as an Accounting Manager, or equivalent managerial level position
- Significant Measurable Process Improvement experience in a company with $100 million in revenue or greater
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Detailed Oriented Professional

Salary : $125,000 - $140,000
