Compensation Wage is $11.79/hr. tips (Minimum of $14.81/hr. Average of $30.00/hr.)
Job Summary
Take beverage orders and collect payments, when specified. Serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, according to Hotel specifications and group requirements. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.
Job Duties
- Pour requested beverages utilizing standard recipes and appropriate measuring tools.
- Learn and maintain full knowledge of beverage selections for each function; including beverage characteristics, cash bar prices, etc.
- Take accurate beverage orders; ensure proper communication with the servers, and proper recording on the system. Follow TIPS guidelines and request proper identification for alcoholic beverages. Strictly abide by State liquor regulations.
- Learn and maintain full knowledge of banquet events; such as group name, expected attendance, type of function/requirements, order of program; special requests/arrangements, VIPs, etc.
- Set bars, cash machines, etc. according to function.
- Follow appropriate PCI procedures.
- Complete billing/closing paperwork accurately.
- Requisition, transport, set and store supplies to/from storage rooms utilizing checklists.
- Monitor bar line; greet and serve guests and visitors in a warm and attentive manner.
- Maintain appropriate floor presence, as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with attendants, servers, captains, and other positions regarding guests, requests, etc.
- Complete and assist with pre and post-function sidework.
- Set and maintain cleanliness, condition, and stock for bars.
- Take dishes, glasses, and other utensils to the rack area; separate and stack properly.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of bar equipment; and use as intended.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ensure proper interactions through attentive, courteous and efficient customer service.
- Patiently answer all inquiries of our guests, visitors, and employees and assist them in every way possible.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Assist department, as needed.
- Additional duties, as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
· Over six months of bartending experience; required.
· TIPS certifications; preferred.
· Knowledge of Aloha, preferred.
· Self-starting and outgoing personality with a pleasant disposition, and strong attention to detail.
· Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with guests and visitors.
Physical Environment
The position performs indoors.
The position requires the ability to move about hallways, kitchens, elevators, stairs, bars, and banquet/meeting rooms.
The position will be handling glasses, bottles, and other bar/kitchen items
The position frequently requires to move items up to 50 lbs. and requires to perform duties in a stooping, kneeling, or crawling position.
The position occasionally requires to move items up to 100 lbs.
