Compensation Wage is $6.28/hr. service charge (Minimum of $14.81/hr. Average of $25.00/hr.)
Job Summary
Set up assigned tables, serve and retrieve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages, and food orders to guest tables according to Hotel specifications and group requirements. Take beverage orders and collect payments, when specified. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.
Job Duties
- Learn and maintain full knowledge of items on the banquet menu (knowledge includes ingredients, texture, appareance, garnish,potential allergens, cooking methods, possible substitutions, presentation, etc.) Follow ServSafe guidelines.
- Learn and maintain full knowledge of beverage selections for each function; including beverage characteristics, cash bar prices, etc.
- Take accurate beverage orders; ensure proper communication with the bar, and proper recording on the system. Follow TIPS guidelines and request proper identification for alcoholic beverages. Strictly abide by State liquor regulations.
- Learn and maintain full knowledge of banquet events; such as group name, expected attendance, type of function/requirements, order of program; special requests/arrangements, VIPs, etc.
- Monitor readiness of dishes, deliver to assigned sections/stations following proper presentation methods.
- Set tables, fold napkins, set linen/skirting according to function.
- Requisition, transport, set and store supplies to/from storage rooms utilizing checklists.
- Provide condiments and service items in a timely manner to buffet area or tables.
- Monitor banquet hall entrances; greet guests and visitors in a warm and attentive manner. Maintain awareness of table numbers and locations.
- Refill beverages promptly.
- Remove empty dishes and glassware promptly.
- Maintain appropriate floor presence, as needed.
- Maintain effective communication with attendants, bartenders, captains, and other positions regarding guests, table requests, etc.
- Complete and assist with pre and post-function sidework.
- Set and maintain cleanliness, condition, and stock for side station and service areas.
- Take dishes, glasses, and other utensils to the rack area; separate and stack properly.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of banquet/buffet equipment; and use as intended.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of specific room set-up styles. Assist with set-up, as needed.
- Prepare cold food items, as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Ensure proper interactions through attentive, courteous and efficient customer service.
- Patiently answer all inquiries of our guests, visitors, and employees and assist them in every way possible.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Assist department, as needed.
- Additional duties, as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.
· Over six months of serving experience; required.
· TIPS and/or ServSafe certifications; preferred.
· Knowledge of Aloha, preferred.
· Self-starting and outgoing personality with a pleasant disposition, and strong attention to detail.
· Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with guests and visitors.

Physical Environment
The position performs indoors.
The position requires the ability to move about hallways, kitchens, elevators, stairs, and banquet/meeting rooms.
The position will be handling hot plates, cups, and other kitchen items
The position frequently requires to move items up to 50 lbs. and requires to perform duties in a stooping, kneeling, or crawling position.
The position occasionally requires to move items up to 100 lbs.

-The hotel operates seven days per week, twenty four hours per day; schedules are reflective of business needs and employees may be requested to be available to work on days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
