We are looking for a dedicated and organized Assistant Manager, Food Services to oversee operations at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) mess hall. The pay range for this position is $66,560 to $66,560. The schedule is Tues- Sat 4a-1pm.
What You’ll Do:
- Supervise a high-volume food service team to ensure timely meal service for military personnel.
- Manage cleanliness and sanitation standards for all areas, including kitchen, serving lines, and dining spaces.
- Develop efficient staffing schedules while maintaining labor cost controls.
- Train and evaluate staff on food safety, sanitation practices, and serving techniques.
- Serve as a liaison between The Arc, Sodexo, and military personnel, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Support and mentor employees and program participants, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: 3 years managing a multi-unit, high-customer-volume food service operation.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree in business preferred.
- Certifications: ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days) and current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with food service standards, labor cost management, and working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Requirements: Valid CA driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
