Finance Manager
Full Time Position Available – Fort Walton Beach, FL
The Arc of the Emerald Coast provides services to intellectually and developmentally disabled children and adults in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton Counties. Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing the financial leadership expertise and oversight for the day-to-day accounting functions and financial reporting of the related agencies, ensuring to maintain the high level of integrity, timeliness of financial reporting, and internal controls
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accuracy and timely reporting for all internal users and external agencies.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and standard reporting to management.
- Prepare monthly management reports for analysis and conducting internal program audits.
- Assist with monthly variance and additional analyses and other ad hoc projects as needed.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
- Review monthly fluctuations in all general ledger accounts.
- Ensure accuracy of accounting coding and allocation of expenses.
- Ensure that the agency is in compliance with restricted expenditures.
- Protect agency assets by monitoring internal controls.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new processes, procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Responsible for daily cash management and banking activities.
- Ensure the bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform analytical assessments as to the disposition of entries and balances in the general ledger.
- Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Manage the finance team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
- Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.
- Partner with the Executive Director on short- and long-term visioning for the department and agency.

Requirements:
- Must possess a current valid Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record and be insurable with Arc EC insurance carriers.
- Must produce proof of personal automobile registration and insurance.
- Must be able to successfully complete Level 2 background screening.
- Must be punctual for all shifts, appointments and meetings.
- Must have regular attendance.
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to run and interpret routine reports and write correspondence.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to think quickly and rationally in a high stress situation.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Accounting Software, 10-Key adding machine and other computer programs as required.
- Must have a full understanding of the principles of accounting and the ability to apply the principles consistently.
- Must be able to audit all facets of accounting.
- Must supervise the different accounting functions to assure consistency in the application of accounting practices.
- Must be able to interact with agency staff and outside associates positively and professionally.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Training/Certifications
- Completion of HIPAA and Zero Tolerance trainings will be required upon hire.
- Must maintain training certificates and keep training up to date.
- Must attend all scheduled training.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
Status: Exempt
Working Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Thursday and 8:00am – 2:00pm on Friday; some occasional irregular hours or weekend work may be required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
