About the Role
As the Assistant Director of Human Resources in Kansas City, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the organization’s HR operations. You’ll collaborate with program managers, HR team members, and staff across all levels to ensure efficient and effective HR practices. This role requires strong leadership skills and hands-on involvement in day-to-day HR functions while providing onsite supervision to assigned HR team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and management, offering guidance on personnel policies and resolving HR issues.
- Lead recruitment efforts to ensure the hiring of qualified professionals who align with The Arc’s mission.
- Maintain strong relationships with community organizations to enhance public relations and talent pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and regulations.
- Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture by building trust and rapport with employees and leadership.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least 3 years in HR or a related field, with previous supervisory experience required.
- Certifications: HRCI or SHRM certification strongly preferred.
