Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Level 3 Millwright to join our team. A Level 3 Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment in a manufacturing or industrial setting. This includes pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, bearings, and other mechanical components. A Level 3 Millwright will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that equipment operates efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing production output.
Primary Duties:
- Install and assemble complex mechanical systems, machinery, and components based on engineering specifications and technical drawings.
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and repair or replace faulty parts to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
- Overhaul machinery, such as pumps, compressors, motors, and drives, ensure that they operate at optimal performance levels.
- Use precision instruments to align and calibrate machinery to meet manufacturer specifications and tolerances.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective measures in a timely and efficient manner to prevent production delays.
- Perform basic welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required for repairs or new installations.
- Follow safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of safety within the workplace.
- Work with other trades, such as electricians and operators, to resolve complex equipment issues and optimize machine performance.
- Suggest improvements to equipment, processes, and procedures to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working as a Millwright, with advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Experience with welding, cutting, and basic fabrication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Valid drivers license and ability to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery, if required.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
