Warehouse/ Receiving Manager
The Warehouse/ Receiving Manager is responsible for overseeing receiving operations within the warehouse. This role ensures that all products are accurately received, and properly stored to meet company requirements. The manager leads a team of warehouse staff throughout the day/evening and collaborates with other departments to maintain smooth logistics operations. Additionally, the Warehouse/Receiving Manager is responsible for ensuring that all vehicle maintenance reports are completed by drivers, keeping the fleet in optimal condition to support efficient warehouse activities and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee daily receiving and loading operations of a 24/7 manufacturing facility.
· Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse receiving and all other operational processes.
· Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff.
· Schedule and allocate tasks to team members to meet operational deadlines.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve staff efficiency and effectiveness.
· Foster a safe and inclusive working environment by enforcing safety protocols and company policies.
· Address and resolve customer complaints related to shipping and receiving issues.
· Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
· Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stock discrepancies. Work with purchaser to ensure adjustments are made during high and low production periods.
· Ensure accurate and timely inventory.
· Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to maintain stock accuracy.
· Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
· Collaborate with the team to manage stock levels and reorder points.
· Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.
· Ensure proper handling and storage of products to prevent damage and spoilage.
· Implement quality control measures to minimize shipping errors and returns.
· Prepare reports on shipping and receiving performance, including metrics on accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding shipping and receiving documentation.
· Collaborate with the accounting department to reconcile shipping and receiving records with financial statements.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
· Implement new technologies and systems to streamline shipping and receiving operations.
· Develop and implement comprehensive truck maintenance program, ensuring all vehicles are properly serviced, inspected and repaired.
· Ensure drivers complete bi-weekly truck maintenance forms and follow up when needed.
· Schedule regular maintenance checks and services for all vehicles in the fleet.
· Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities.
· Order and manage inventory of necessary spare parts and maintenance supplies.
· Review and optimize maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and costs.
· Ensure all vehicles have updated insurance cards, registrations, and fuel cards.
Job environment
This role involves working in diverse temperature conditions, including cold storage areas and warehouse spaces that are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
Skills and Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred).
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, including shipping and receiving roles.
· Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to lift heavy objects, operate warehouse equipment, and stand for extended periods.
Pay Range: $65,000 to $80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
