What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller position at The Bolton Group?
We have partnered with an amazing company in Frisco as they add an Assistant Controller to their growing team!
This role will focus on improvements and reshaping the department and optimize efficiencies across all areas of accounting.
The Assistant Controller will report to the CFO, drive process improvements, implement new standards, and improve internal controls while leading a high performing team of 5 accountants.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the accounting team and oversee the corporate accounting function, driving efficiencies and keeping a continuous improvement mindset.
- Responsible for oversight of month end close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Will act as the main point for external audits
- Drive ad hoc and special projects
Identify and drive process improvements
- Assist in adding new internal controls and policies to comply with accounting best practices; Research and implement new accounting guidance
- Perform risk assessment and implement changes to the internal control structure
- Review accounting processes, and identify and resolve inaccuracies
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- CPA required
Requirements
- Big 4 experience preferred
- Manufacturing Industry experience required
- 5 years in an accounting leadership role - Assistant Controller or Controller level
- Must be a change maker ready to improve policies and procedures for a growing organization
- Strong aptitude of financial systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Dynamics experience a plus

Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
