The General Manager will oversee all aspects of property management in accordance with our company's policy, established procedures, brand standards, and goal. The General Manager will reside on location and will assume the responsibility of improving our level of service to enhance the profitability of our motel which includes maximization of financial performance, guest satisfaction, and staff development.
This is a seasonal motel with the busiest times running from early April through September. During the season, one day off a week is provided and 2 through our slower months. This job requires a healthy and able body as there is a lot of moving, stairs, some lifting, assistance with cleaning etc involved.
A couple is preferred for this position however, the salary is for one person only.
A nearby local or resident of NC is preferred as we are not looking to relocate a person/couple from out of state at this time.
A background check is required.
Compensation:
$43,500 yearly

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day-to-day operations of the hotel/motel.
- Lead all onsite team members and housekeepers - and promote a healthy team culture.
- Ensure all guest rooms, common areas, and hotel grounds meet standards of cleanliness, upkeep, and function.
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise with a proactive attitude and mindset.
Qualifications:
- 2 - 5 years in hospitality or other hotel management role. Experienced candidates will be considered first.
- Must have strong guest relations skills
- Must understand profitability and cost control
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets. Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
- Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
- Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand for long periods at a time.
- May be required to do light lifting or carrying.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and in stressful situations.
- Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.

About Company
Located at the south end of Topsail Beach, NC the Breezeway Restaurant and Motel has been serving their guests for 75 years. We are a small sound side motel with 47 rooms and 2 cottages. We are a family business and are looking for a motivated and active live in manager for the motel.
A live-in motel manager, also known as a resident manager, is responsible for helping the general manager/owner run the motel smoothly and profitably. They are on-call around the clock and live on the motel property.
Here are some responsibilities of a motel manager:
- Customer service: Ensure customers are satisfied with their stay. This includes responding to inquiries, resolving guest issues, and providing excellent customer service.
- Reputation management: Cultivate a positive online reputation and keep guests coming back.
- Day-to-day operations: Oversee all day-to-day operations, including managing reservations, security, supervising reception, coordinating room service, hospitality, and housekeeping.
- Staff management: Motivate staff and delegate tasks.
- Decision-making and problem-solving: Demonstrate an aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving.
- Leadership: Have outstanding leadership skills.
Some skills that are helpful for a motel manager include:
- Working knowledge booking systems.
- Knowledge of hotel management software (this will be new for us)
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or relevant field
