Some Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes and models a proactive approach to supporting individuals during behavioral crises.
- Utilizes SCIP-R physical intervention techniques as a last resort and models for others how to create a supportive environment that decreases the need for SCIP-R techniques.
- Promote independence of the individuals served by observing and participating in any needed support areas and provide assistance, role-modeling, teaching and/or training as needed to individual or staff member.
- Reviews the Behavior Support Plans of the individuals that require support.
- Accurately maintains all documentation (i.e. behavior data, nursing, medication, communication, RIA forms, non-reportable situations, etc.).
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work. or related field or High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Must be able to sit, stand, lift 50 lbs.
