What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Program Educator position at THE CENTER FOR DISCOVERY INC?
Function:
Ensures the safety and well–being of each individual assigned to his/her care. The Program Educator is responsible for the successful execution of the residential program and continuity of care within the assigned residence. The Program Educator’s focus is to develop each individual’s person-centered programming based on their interests and abilities aligned with the HealthE 6 Model. The Program Educator is responsible for the training and supervision of the Direct Care Staff. The Program Educator serves as a communication liaison between the Residential Director, direct care staff, residents, external agencies connected to Individuals (ex. Life Plan), interdisciplinary teams, and families. The Program Educator ensures compliance with Federal, State and Center for Discovery policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to train and supervise staff. Must be able to interact with other departments and work as a team member. Minimum two years supervisory experience, flexibility in hours and ability to be on-call at times is essential.
