Crisis Call Center Specialist– Full Time, Monday – Friday, 4pm-12am
The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Crisis Call Center Specialist/Receptionist. Our mission at CFPA is to help all people live free from violence and abuse, and our Crisis Call Center Specialist is essential in bringing that mission to life.
The Crisis Call Center Specialist serves main reception and security functions for the agency and is responsible for receiving, triaging, and processing all telephone calls made to the domestic violence crisis line and local line providing callers with trauma informed services.
Primary responsibilities of this position include answering and assisting callers on general domestic violence calls and hotline calls, greeting and monitoring all incoming calls and visitors to the Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA), and monitoring CFPA’s security system when needed.
The Crisis Call Specialist/Receptionist notifies their supervisor and initiates emergency response during circumstances when it is determined the caller is at imminent risk and cannot secure their safety, refers callers to appropriate CFPA resources, and refers callers to other appropriate resources, agencies, and organizations. This position must maintain confidential, accurate and timely documentation in accordance with ICADV/DHS standards and CFPA policy and procedure manual and participate in special projects as assigned.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in working with individuals in crisis is preferred.
Must be passionate about CFPA’s mission, work well independently and as a team, demonstrate non-abusive behavior in both public and professional life, and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
