Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our logistics team as a Routing and Dispatch Intern. The intern will assist in coordinating daily operations, optimizing delivery routes, and supporting real-time communication with drivers. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates interested in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management to gain hands-on experience.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in planning and optimizing delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Support dispatch operations by monitoring driver schedules and ensuring timely service.
- Communicate with drivers to provide route updates and resolve issues in real-time.
- Enter and maintain accurate data related to routes, deliveries, and performance metrics.
- Generate reports on delivery performance and service quality.
- Help ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and delivery status requests.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with routing/dispatch software (a plus).
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Experience in logistics, dispatch, or customer service (internships or part-time work).
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning
