POSITION TITLE: Intake Coordinator

SALARY RANGE: $45,760 - $48,000

REPORTS TO:MDT Director

FLSA STATUS: Full time, Non-exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Intake Coordinator coordinates the intake process for clients at The Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester (CACGROC), including triaging and scheduling cases regarding service needs, and documenting services provided. The Intake Coordinator performs the job duties according to professional ethics, maintaining a high standard of confidentiality. This includes maintaining ongoing relationships with multidisciplinary team (MDT) members to streamline the scheduling process for children/families to receive collaborative services.

The Intake Coordinator reports to the MDT Director and is typically scheduled Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Answers and screens calls on the triage phone and responds to walk-in clients to assess needs, coordinates services, and provides appropriate referrals as needed.

· Coordinates and schedules clients for various appointments, including, but not limited to, forensic interviews, medicals and other direct services provided by team members within the organization.

· Conducts case coordination conversations with appropriate staff and MDT members to ensure open communication is adhered to when scheduling clients for collaborative services.

· Prepares intake case file paperwork for scheduled services and ensures advocacy and forensic interview staff are available and have all pertinent information prior to scheduled services.

· Participates in daily morning (Rounds) discussions to ensure cases are triaged efficiently and appropriately.

· Documents all client contact accordingly to maintain appropriate records for all grant (OVS, OCFS, NCA) reporting.

· In coordination with Intervention staff and the Data Coordinator, maintains case integrity within the Collaborate data collection system by inputting all client data as needed.

· Attends case review, team and staff meetings.

· Provides support services according to the National Children’s Alliance (NCA) standards and as delineated in CACGROC’s MDT Child Abuse Guidelines.

· Works collaboratively with the MDT providing services at the child advocacy center.

· Communicates effectively with child victims and others regardless of age, sex, social, economic, cultural or ethnic backgrounds, maintaining a strict standard of confidentiality.

· Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate proficiency in meeting competencies required for position; able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, psychology, or related field, preferably has experience working with victims and/or vulnerable children/families.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

· Outstanding customer service, interpersonal communication, and listening skills

· Prior experience providing crisis counseling or problem solving with at-risk children and families

· Knowledge of advocacy standards and skills relating to victims of crime

· Knowledge of child abuse dynamics, forensic interviewing protocol, child protective and law enforcement investigation procedures, and legal reporting mandates for professionals

· Ability to engage and build rapport with all family members and children

· High attention to detail orientation

· Familiarity with the legal, social service, medical and mental health systems responsible for protecting children

· Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with MDT members and other community agencies

· Ability to effectively prioritize and organize assignments in a fast-paced work environment

· Respect for diversity and a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive services

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer

· Ability to communicate in English, in-person, on the phone, and in written format
