Job Description:
Summer Seasonal Position
Applicant must be a current college student.
This role will support service-learning programs.
Examples of Duties:
- Assist in conducting service-learning activities for youth ages 11-18 at the Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) of Charleston Summer of Service (SOS)
- Support the Program Director with a variety of service-learning lessons and volunteer events.
- Help facilitate and lead team building activities and energizing games while fostering an inclusive environment for all youth.
- Assist in implementation of program curriculum and lead small and large group activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Current college student pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (June - August).
- Able to manage behavior, problem solve, and communicate effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with children and youth empowerment.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
The Summer Youth Employment Program offers selected youth paid workshops on financial empowerment to help participants gain skills in banking, budgeting, saving, and credit. For more information on this aspect of the Summer Youth Employment experience, contact Mindy Sturm at
