Job Description:
Summer Seasonal Position
Must be a high school student and at least 16 years old by hire date.
This role will assist with Economic and Neighborhood Services activities.
Examples of Duties:
- Assists with graphic design and social media for marketing and outreach materials related to the following initiatives and events:
- Neighborhood Association Toolkit
- First Day Festival back to school event
- School Supply Drive for First Day Festival
- Operation Neighborhood
- Reviews documents and digital postings to assess continuity of branding
- Updates King Street Database with business contact information.
- Researches local businesses for Small Biz spotlights.
- Assists with coordination of activities and volunteer projects for the Summer Youth Volunteer Corp Camp.
Basic Qualifications:
- Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (between the months of June - August 2025)
- Current high school student.
- At least 16 years of age by hire date.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
The Summer Youth Employment Program offers selected youth paid workshops on financial empowerment to help participants gain skills in banking, budgeting, saving, and credit. For more information on this aspect of the Summer Youth Employment experience, contact Mindy Sturm at
