The City of Lampasas is now accepting applications for an Executive Secretary/Permit Technician. This position is highly visible and requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think quickly and adapt to any given situation while supporting administration and providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. Under supervision of the City Secretary, this position supports the City Manager, Building Official and Economic Development Director with various administrative duties.
This position requires knowledge of standard office practices and procedures and the ability to operate computers efficiently, read and understand manuals, letters, and memos; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; interpret policies and procedures; ability to problem solve, strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, ability to demonstrate initiative and leadership skills.
High School Diploma or GED required. Must have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a clerical or administrative position preferably with a municipality or government entity.
Starting hourly rate is $17.00, DOQ, plus excellent benefits.
