Job Overview
Server/ Waiter responsibilities include greeting and serving members/guest, providing detailed information on menus, and multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties.
Job Functions
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
- Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner.
- Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
- Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
- Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
- Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred.
- Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday.
Education and Experience
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.

- Have 2 years of serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant
- Have a current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
- Meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
- Have basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitality
- Have Excellent customer service skills
- High school diploma or GED
