What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Camp Counselor position at The Club at Las Campana?
Scope:
To provide outstanding service to our members’ children and grandchildren participating in the annual summer season Camp Campanas Program.
The Lead Camp Counselor is responsible for creating exciting and fun-filled camp activities and events including arts and crafts, music and dance, pool, tennis, pickleball, and nature activities.

External: Members/Guests: To provide excellent service.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Experience:
- Experience with children ages 4-12.
- Basic understanding of child development.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Certification and/or License Requirement:
- High School diploma preferred
- CPR and First Aid certified or ability to become certified.
- Valid state driver’s license and clean background and MVR.
Skills:
- Must possess excellent oral, written, interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Must possess the ability to interact with members, guest, children of all ages and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
- Position requires a highly professional demeanor, adaptability, flexibility and adherence to a strict level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work as a team player and lead by example.
- Ability to communicate clear instructions and comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple activities with the assistance of camp staff and facilitators.
- Safe driving record and ability/willingness to transport children in 15-passenger van.
- Ability to swim.
- Ability to read, write, see, speak, and understand English.
Working Conditions:
Physical/Cognitive Activities:
- Requires ability to bend, stoop, lift, balance and carry items up to 50lbs.
- Ability to push or pull items on a cart up to 50lbs.
- Ability to assist in moving furniture when necessary.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to work with flammable materials, and toxic cleaning chemicals as well as sharp knives and other objects.
- Ability to move freely on a multi-floor building.
