Education and / or Experience :
Certificate from technical school in one or more building trades and / or 5 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalent.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, building codes, and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively to staff, students and outside contractors.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in a group or individually.
Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs.
Good attention to detail.
Knowledge :
Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics and geometry as used in construction.
Abilities :
Acknowledge and comply with all departmental SOP, safety, and college requirements.
Strong professional ethics and discretion with an attitude of respect for all employed at CoW.

Work Environment :
Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
