Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Crisis Care Navigator - Domestic Violence located in Sioux Falls, SD. As an essential member of the Adult Services Team, you will provide immediate and ongoing support to survivors of domestic violence, ensuring they receive comprehensive, trauma-informed care. You will work closely with internal team members, external agencies, and community partners to help survivors navigate medical, legal, and recovery processes.
Daily responsibilities include providing crisis response at hospitals and law enforcement centers, conducting safety planning, assisting with protection orders and emergency resources, participating in team case consultations, and serving as an agency expert on domestic violence. This position also includes co-leading staff training initiatives and maintaining strong community partnerships to improve survivor-centered response systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in domestic violence advocacy, crisis response, or related direct-service roles
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, survivor-centered advocacy, and legal processes affecting survivors
- Exceptional problem-solving and crisis de-escalation skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a highly collaborative team
- Experience developing and facilitating training programs (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build trust with survivors and maintain relationships with community partners
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
