Responsibilities
- Ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and safety of all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems.
- As an Engineering Supervisor, leads our team of engineering in maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and systems.
- Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel.
- Oversee the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical etc.) function efficiently.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain hotel standards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and other hotel departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, fire codes, and environmental policies.
- Lead, train, and support the engineering team, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, servicing, and equipment installations.
- Supports and improves engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and employees.
Oversee the installation of new equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards.
Diagnose mechanical problems and develop effective solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
- Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Hospitality oriented
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
- Experience as Mechanical Engineering and other systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery as supervisor for at least 3 years.
- Must poses experience in one or more of the following areas: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls, Plumbing, Carpentry & Finish Skills, Kitchen Equipment, General Building.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.
- Must be able to bend, squat and stretch, stand for 2-3 hours, lift weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Fully Bilingual (Spanish/English).
