Tax Accountant

Overview

The Tax Accountant position is responsible for assisting with the preparation of income tax provisions, income tax compliance, miscellaneous filings, tax account reconciliations and journal entries. The position works closely with the Accounting teams on tax related projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740 

• Timely prepare, file, and submit payments for income tax filings 

• Review tax fixed asset additions and retirements and makes updates if needed 

• Prepare journal entries for tax accruals, refunds, adjustments, or other required accounting transactions adhering to strict deadlines, reconcile tax general ledger accounts and ensure reconciling items are fully documented and resolved in a timely manner 

• Maintain tax calendar for Company filing obligations 

• Timely prepare, file, and submit payments for business licenses, and other miscellaneous filings  

• Assist with handling correspondence from taxing authorities and respond timely 

• Research and stay current of changes to tax laws and other compliance related requirements 

• Assist with special projects and implementation of process improvement initiatives as required in alignment with Department and Company initiatives

Qualifications

• College degree required
• 2-5 years accounting experience required
• Corporate Tax experience preferred
• General ledger accounting experience required
• Corptax and/or SAGE Fixed Assets software experience preferred
• CPA / CPA candidate a plus
• Based in Dallas/Ft. Worth area on a hybrid schedule
• Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and knowledge of Excel
• Must be at least 18 years of age
