About the position…
Reporting to the Chief Financial & HR Officer, this position serves as the main point of contact for all staff members regarding payroll, benefits, time off, staff policies and procedures, and other human resource operational functions. The HR/PR Manager will be a super user for Paychex and Employee Navigator and will manage the subsequent system data and staff files. This individual is driven by customer service and process improvement mindsets, continually looking for ways to increase our effectiveness and efficiencies as a team.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as main point of contact for staff regarding payroll, benefits, leave, and all other policy and procedure inquiries
- Assist with recruiting and hiring procedures including job requisitions, job postings, candidate screening, reference checks, etc.
- Support the execution related to staff onboarding including background checks, mandatory training, filing I-9, etc.
- Manage annual open enrollment and benefits administration using Employee Navigator
- Process semi-monthly payroll and manage time and attendance (PTO) balances
- Support the execution related to staff offboarding procedures
- Promote a positive work culture by fostering employee engagement, satisfaction, and well-being
- Assist with employee relations by listening to employee concerns, may be asked to investigate conflicts, and consult on disciplinary actions
- Handle confidential HR-related documentation and maintain accurate employee records (electronic and paper) in compliance with legal requirements
- Facilitate responses to third-party provider requests such as leave management and verifications of employment
- Provide staff training for Paychex: Time & Attendance and maintain accurate time-off records
- Additional duties as assigned

What you’ll bring to the team…
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Experience with Paychex and Employee Navigator preferred
- HR and Payroll certifications preferred (PHR, CPP)
- Knowledge of HR compliance and federal/ state labor laws
- Strong computer literacy with high proficiency using MS Excel, Word, and Adobe
- Team player with a positive attitude, proactive approach and customer service mindset
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize while successfully managing multiple tasks
- A disciplined, results-oriented self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
