What are the responsibilities and job description for the PTAN PUBLIC DEFENDER INVESTIGATOR position at The County of Adams?
The Office of the Public Defender is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a part-time as needed Investigator. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring that indigent defendants receive a fair and just defense by conducting investigations into alleged criminal conduct, reviewing evidence, and interviewing witnesses. This position requires a strong interest in working with indigent defendants and their families, and a passion for upholding the presumption of innocence.
This position offers flexible hours, with the potential for up to 20 hours per week.
Requirement:
1. Graduation from an accredited high school.
2. One year of experience investigating alleged criminal offenses for the purpose of developing and documenting factual information to be used in criminal trials or one year of experience interviewing individuals for the purpose of obtaining and documenting factual information or any combination of these types of experience equaling one year.
3. Valid driver’s license and registered, insured vehicle.
4. Must have a strong interest in working with indigent defendants and their families, and in helping to ensure that all Public Defender clients are afforded the presumption of innocence and a vigorous defense.
