The HDD Company (A division of The Crossing Group) is seeking an experienced and independent, highly organized Project Manager to add to our project management team. This position is responsible for working with key members of the estimating and operations teams, and will report directly to the Vice President, Projects. Based out of our Casa Grande, AZ offices; the role will be primarily office-based but may involve up to 50% travel time to job sites on a project basis.

Duties
Monitor and manage all (HDD) Horizontal Directional Drilling construction activities for simultaneous HDD operations to ensure adherence to the execution plan and contractual requirements while providing reports on timeline, progress, and adjustments from change orders.
Provide risk management monitoring to oversee both commercial risk strategies specific to HDD operations and technical execution risk strategies relating to geotechnical data and Inadvertent Fluid Release containment.
Ensure operational compliance on all permit, environmental, and safety reporting; provide mentorship and expert HDD project management support to the HDD Rig Manager and Driller in relation to execution, risk management, task deviation, and project development.
Manage the coordination and negotiations of all pre-construction activities and submittals requiring the management of multi-disciplined inputs from engineering, estimating, environmental, and executive teammates and synthesizing them into a concise response respective to client requirement and in consideration of HDD activities.Monitor and manage all (HDD) Horizontal Directional Drilling construction activities for simultaneous projects to ensure strict adherence to the execution plan and contractual requirements.
- Produce daily work reports and change orders for submittal to client, and internal reports on plan vs actual progress
- Ensure adherence to the execution plan and contractual requirements
- Produce project budgets and ensure adherence to planned spend: track project expenses and prepare post-job reports for use in estimating cycle.
- Ensure operational compliance on all permit, environmental, and safety reporting; provide mentorship and expert HDD project management support to the HDD Rig Manager in relation to execution, task deviation, and project development.
- Manage the coordination and negotiations of all pre-construction activities and submittals requiring the management of multi-disciplined inputs from engineering, estimating, environmental, and executives. Produce job plans meeting client requirement and in consideration of HDD priorities.
- Spearhead all communications activities with all stakeholders (co-workers, clients, and sub-contractors) prior to and during construction
- Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for project owners, clients, and subcontractors
- Prepare monthly owner/client Schedule of Values (SOV)/pay applications
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders during execution
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in conjunction with estimating/business development/operations teams.
- Attend and lead/participate in site-visits, pre-bid meeting and post-bid meeting as required.
Requirements

- 3 years’ proven working experience as a project manager in the construction sector
- Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in civil construction and/or trenchless technology
- Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite.
- PMP Certification
- Having excellent organizational and decision making/problem solving skills.
- Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and to communicate effectively with others, having strong interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
Must have Microsoft Project Experience
Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
Thorough knowledge of civil or pipeline construction.
Seek and accept responsibility for critical tasks throughout project lifecycle.
Working Conditions
- Office and Field responsibilities up to 50% in the field.
- 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday, extra hours will be required to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to worksites will require PPE to be worn and may occur in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
