Pay: All of our restaurants include a service charge fee on each transaction, so this range includes the base pay plus service charge tips.
PURPOSE
The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring efficient order flow between Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH), prioritizing orders, assisting in final dish preparation, and ensures that food is prepared and delivered to guests in a timely and organized manner while upholding quality and sanitation standards. This role also supports all members of the team in attending to the needs of guests while understanding the flow and service of the FOH.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in set up of outside expo line in addition to setting mise en place for service.
- Organizes and maintains outside expo in tandem with chef expo on the line.
- Make sure that all the orders are prepared in time and ensure adherence to all relevant quality and sanitation rules and regulations.
- Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
- Assist in the final preparation of different food and dishes before they leave the kitchen.
- Serve as a contact point for the kitchen and the wait staff.
- Assists in running food to tables.
- Handles busy service independently and professionally.
- Communicate customer needs to servers, bartenders, or managers.
- Maintain health and safety regulations in all kitchen and dining areas.
- Assist servers or bartenders in service to guests, when necessary.
- Assists in breakdown and reset of the restaurant and bar at the conclusion of service or shift.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- In depth understanding of food menu items
- Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills.
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Ability to multitask and problem solve quickly while remaining calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Previous experience as a Busser, Food Runner or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holidays.
