PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for administrative support, including but not limited to record keeping, and file maintenance. Promotes and fosters employee engagement and a culture of service and community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Maintain accurate employee information in the HRIS system (terminations, pay/position changes, personal data, etc.).
· Maintain personnel records in accordance with regulatory compliance (FMLA, EEO, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.).
· Processes and accurately tracks leaves of absence and ensures compliance with FMLA, ADA, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
· Serve as a contact for employees for inquiries on policy, procedures, benefits, and other general HR questions.
· Engage employees and resolve issues expediently, with professionalism and tact. Escalates concerns to the HR Administrator.
· Prepare routine and special reports by conducting necessary analysis of trends and identifying problem areas where the margin for error is small and level of importance is high.
· Assist with benefit administration through processing enrollments and terminations, administering COBRA, process billing statement for accuracy, and assisting employees with general information including but not limited to additional plan services.
· Track 30, 60, 90-day reviews and Annual Performance Appraisals to ensure timely administration and implementation of salary increases.
· Assists in maintaining accurate job descriptions.
· Assist in planning and organizing Employee Engagement Events.
Process employment and wage verifications.
· May attend career fairs and recruitment events and assist the HR Specialist with onboarding and/or orientation of new hires as needed.
· Support and promote employee engagement initiatives.
· Orders Uniforms, drug screens and badge supplies. Maintains par levels.
· Other duties as assigned by the HR Administrator.
· Obey all federal, state, and local laws.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Works in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled office area.
· Physical exertion required no more than 20% of the time. Physical exertion is defined as lifting, standing, stooping, bending, and walking.
· Minimal exposure to infectious diseases.
· High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
· Possess good organizational ability and strong interpersonal skills.
· Physical job demands may be subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
· Must be able to gather, organize, and analyze data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor Degree preferred or equivalent years of experience.
Licensure/ Certification: N/A
Experience: 2- 3 years previous work experience in human relations or
personnel preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
