The Finance Associate supports the financial operations of the company by assisting with budgeting, project cost tracking, financial reporting, and analysis. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of project-related financial data, maintaining up-to-date records, and supporting the finance team with both routine and strategic tasks. The Finance Associate collaborates with project managers, vendors, and internal departments to manage cash flows, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with financial policies and timelines. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting complex development projects from a financial perspective.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
o Ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions.
o Prepare and review account reconciliations, accruals, and financial adjustments.
o Assist with the preparation of tax filings, sales/use tax, 1099s, and other regulatory reports.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, development, and finance to support organizational goals.
o Update cash flow projections for development projects.
o Compile monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc financial reports related to ongoing development projects.
o Assist in preparing documentation for loan draws and investor reporting.
o Complete bi-weekly cash flow forecasts across multiple ownership entities
o Perform monthly construction requisition process with third-party lenders, and update financial model with ongoing anticipated projections
o Review debt and equity benchmarking requirements and work with department personnel to submit documentation to third-party lenders
o Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
o Prepare and support the submission of cost certification packages to auditors and funding agencies and manage the process to ensure accurate and complete reporting

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
o Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration preferred
o 1-2 years of experience in a support role in real estate development or acquisitions, finance, or accounting
o Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Onesite or Sage)
Skills & Competencies
o Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
o Solid understanding of basic accounting and finance principles
o Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
o Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
o Strong organizational and time management skills
o Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and ability to multitask
