Job Overview:
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance team. As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, ensure the integrity of financial reporting, and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. You will lead a team of accountants and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to senior management.
- Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
- Conduct performance evaluations and offer training to enhance team capabilities.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Review general ledger entries and ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting policies.
- Assist with the development and management of budgets and forecasts.
- Provide variance analysis and recommendations to senior management for improvements.
- Maintain a strong system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax filings, and accounting policies.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial processes with company objectives.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
- Provide actionable insights based on financial data to drive strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
