What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist - West Central School position at the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities?
Provides direct implementation, consultation and monitoring of occupational therapy intervention for students with moderate, severe and profound developmental disabilities across domains and environments as related to IEP goals/objectives and other school programs; provides therapeutic intervention and support in a wide variety of community-based settings which may require using public transportation or driving a county vehicle. Provides therapy in the swimming pool, if appropriate.
Completes assessments of students to obtain current levels of functioning and need to assist in the development of the IEP goals and related school programming; assessments may include but are not limited to, daily living skills, mobility (wheelchair), posture, reflexes and fine/gross motor; assessments may be completed in school, swimming pool and community environment.
Develops and maintains occupational therapy equipment
Plans, reviews, selects and maintains therapeutic equipment and materials for use in the assigned learning environment; requests, secures and follows up on medical information relative to the occupational therapy plan
Maintains the assigned environment in a condition which is conducive for learning and free of health and safety hazards.
Participates as a member of the transdisciplinary team working with other professional staff in assessing, developing, implementing, evaluating and modifying the Individual Educational Plan.
Prepares and maintains written records regarding student progress on IEP goals and progress reports. Prepares and maintains reports as required, but not limited to, student assessments, program objectives and progress data for regular evaluations and for revision of the Individual Educational Plan/Classroom based Occupational Therapy Program.
Provides consultation services with instructors, parents, guardians and/or others to promote generalization of developed skills in the home, work, school and community.
May perform delegated nursing tasks and/or procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Compensation is determined by education and experience:
Candidates with a bachelor's degree: $28.05/hr. to $32.55/hr.
Candidates with a master's degree: $30.60/hr. to $34.55/hr.
Candidates with a doctorate degree: $35.48/hr. to $40.04/hr.

Salary : $28 - $40
