The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing the intake of individuals for care. This position assesses patients for eligibility, enters information to update their electronic health records, and helps process documentation. The Coordinator will collaborate with other clinic team members and provide direction to Clinic patients on eligibility and other related matters. Supervises assigned volunteers. Our perfect applicant has an associate degree in business administration and several years of experience in a medical facility.
The scope of this position is broad. This position may be required to participate in collaborative events with other community organizations, participate in internal quality improvement initiatives, identify opportunities for increased efficiency, and collaborate with other disciplines both within and outside of the Clinic to provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient admission and discharge process
- Complete administrative patient screening or rescreening following established Clinic guidelines
- Follow up telephone calls to patients and others as needed
- Documentation in electronic medical record as needed
- Administrative functions, such as taking telephone calls and assembling physical charts
Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration or equivalent experience
- Experience in registration and discharge in a medical facility
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience in working with underserved populations
- Data entry skills
