Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Paralegal to support our Bankruptcy Attorneys and assist with a wide range of legal tasks. This role involves preparing and filing legal documents, conducting research, and offering support across various bankruptcy cases. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in bankruptcy law and be comfortable working independently as well as collaborating with clients and third parties to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to Bankruptcy Attorneys by preparing, filing, and managing legal documents related to bankruptcy cases.
- Independently handle bankruptcy cases, ensuring that all necessary follow-ups and updates are completed on time.
- Track important dates and deadlines by maintaining accurate dockets and scheduling future follow-ups.
- Conduct thorough bankruptcy research using various databases, documenting and organizing the results.
- Draft and review bankruptcy-related documents, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist with electronic filings and preparation of bankruptcy motions.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the team.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Bankruptcy Paralegal in a law firm.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties.
- Ability to work independently, managing a high volume of tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality work standards.
- Strong multitasking abilities with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and iManage Document Management System.
Education and Certifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
