Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Road Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all work adhering to OSHA, PA, and DOT regulations, as well as H&K Safety policies.
- Review job orders and observe equipment operation to identify malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Identify parts for repairs or replacement, and examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment/trucks.
- Dismantle equipment/trucks to examine parts for defects or remove defective parts.
- Replace defective parts with new ones or repair/reproduce them from various metals.
- Assemble and test-operate machines or test-drive trucks to verify corrections and confirm conformance to manufacturer specifications.
- Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
- Perform diagnostics using computers and various equipment.
- Conduct front-end inspections and alignments.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) from an accredited educational institution, or relevant experience and/or training.
- A CDL B license.
- A clean driving record.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with general computer knowledge and Cat software (ET & SIS).
- Ability to use mechanics' hand tools, torches, and welders.
- Capacity to fit-test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed.
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, etc.)
