Our Auto Liability team is currently seeking an Litigation Adjuster for Worcester, MA - Glastonbury, CT and/or Richmond, VA.
The Hanover Insurance Group has adopted a Hybrid work model that allows for 2 or 3 days of remote work each week with the balance of time being in the office to engage with peers and managers to continue to develop a strong cultureThis is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license (s) and continuing education credits.
Responsible for the settlement of litigated cases, involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues.
Work in partnership with defense counsel and field adjusters to bring about a timely cost-effective conclusion.
Claims handled are transferred existing losses or first notice lawsuits, over disputed issues, which require a higher level of investigation, analysis, evaluation, and negotiation.
Maintain a keen foresight into claims depth to accurately adjust reserves, based on new information, over the cycle time of an exposure.
Develops timely cost-effective discovery, trial, and settlement resolution strategies, in conjunction with defense counsel, to minimize the costs associated with protracted litigation.
Represents the company at trial, mediation, and arbitration.
Acts as a technical resource for inside and field adjusters.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
Typically has 5-8 years professional experience Prior Bodily Injury Litigated claims handling experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to negotiate skillfully in difficult situations with both internal and external groups
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Promotes and facilitates free and open communication
Understanding of applicable statutes, regulations, and case law
Thinks critically and anticipates, recognizes, identifies, and develops solutions to problems in a timely manner
Easily adapts to new or different changing situations, requirements, or priorities
