Our Auto Liability team is currently seeking a Sr. Litigation Adjuster.
This is a full time, exempt role. Hybrid work arrangement, 2 days in office.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the settlement of litigated cases, involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues. This professional will gather the facts and analyze the statements/testimony and declaration of damages to develop claims resolution strategies. The same will be achieved through working in partnership with defense counsel and field adjusters to bring about a timely cost effective conclusion.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Have or secure and maintain appropriate states adjuster license (s) and continuing education credits.
In this role you will be required to travel.
In person office presence may be required
Responsible for the settlement of litigated cases, involving disputes over coverage, liability, and damages issues.
Work in partnership with defense counsel and experts to bring about a timely cost-effective conclusion.
Claims handled are transferred existing losses or first notice lawsuits, over disputed issues, which require a higher level of investigation, analysis, evaluation, and negotiation.
Maintain a keen foresight into claims depth to accurately adjust reserves, based on new information, over the cycle time of an exposure.
Develops timely cost-effective discovery, trial, and settlement resolution strategies, in conjunction with defense counsel, to minimize the costs associated with protracted litigation.
Represents the company at trial, mediation, and arbitration, countrywide in person if required.
Acts as a technical resource for inside and field adjusters.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
Must have 5-8 years professional experience handling Bodily Injury Litigated claims.
Must have handled high severity cases involving significant injury with up to and exceeding $500k in pure value
Must have experience handling Personal lines, Commercial lines and Homeowners cases.
Ability to recognize and address cases where Plaintiff Counsel may assert Reptile Theory, Bad Faith, Reckless and or Punitive Damages.
Proven track record of developing cases for trial in multiple jurisdictions
Ability to develop sophisticated defense plans for mediation/arbitration.
Proven track record of building solid relationship defense counsel.
Develop and maintain a collaborative approach with Plaintiff Counsel and Defense Counsel to successfully negotiate settlement of complex litigated cases
Exceptional critical thinking skills with a mindset towards cost benefit analysis to mitigate cases and avoid diminishing returns.
Must be receptive to manager feedback and make timely adjustments to the current litigation strategy
Must be adaptive to their approach to handling their cases in collaboration with claim leaders, Defense Counsel and aligned to business expectations
Must be able to recognize adverse case develop and timely escalation to claim leadership .
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
