Our Commercial Lines team is seeking a Business Analyst I in our Worcester, MA or Howell, MI location. This is a full time, exempt role. This is a hybrid opportunity.
POSITION OVERVIEW: A Data & Reporting business operations analyst is a professional who resolves production support issues related to business operations reporting, tools, and databases. Business operations analysts will handle intake and resolution of production support tasks, including break/fixes, data integrity exercises, user and report management, and minor enhancements. Business operations analysts will work with other members of the Data & Reporting team, the Process Center of Excellence, and project teams to create supporting documentation and transfer production support tasks for new development.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE:
- Providing technical expertise across business functions, understanding the relationship between the business and the data and technology that support the business or product.
- Responsible for the prioritizing, analyzing, resolving, documenting, and communicating on various production support tasks
- Collaborating with all relevant parties by demonstrating knowledge of the business technical systems and providing timely and accurate information to business partners
- Collaborating with project teams to document production support tasks
- Applying standards and best practices as defined by Performance Excellence leadership
- Independently and collaboratively working through root cause analysis
- Identifies and recommends improvements when appropriate.
- May develop and execute reports based on basic business requirements by extracting data from a business application or information system and validating results.
- Monitor and respond to business inquiries through shared mailboxes, maintaining ownership over communication with business partners during critical break/fixes
- Typically has 0-2 years related experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Work under supervision of more experienced data engineer or BI Developer.
- Performs work in support of multiple departments, lines of business, and/or products
- Participates in the prioritizing, analyzing, resolving, documenting, and communicating on various production support tasks
- Collaborates with project teams to document and transfer production support tasks upon completion
- Understands a basic awareness of all Data & Reporting capabilities and reporting/tool suite
- May participate across multiple project methodologies-agile, waterfall, iterative
- Solicits & applies standards and best practices as defined by Performance Excellence leadership
- Works independently while seek guidance from more senior BI Developers or Data Engineers and manager
- Ability to independently analyze root cause and implement fixes
