Our Commercial Lines Operations team is currently seeking a Supervisor of Business Operations. This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Assists the department manager with developing the skills, providing technical guidance, and monitoring of performance levels within our Rating organization. Builds a highly engaged workforce to achieve key business strategies through effective coaching, processes and workflow. Responsible for developing employees through recurring coaching interactions and mentorship in order to generate exceptional service experiences for our insureds, agents and customers.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Responsible for of direct supervision of raters.
- Assist department manager with initiatives and projects as assigned.
- Coordinate work assignments new business including high priority and escalated items. Assist team lead when needed with for all transaction types across all lines of business.
- Monitor work volumes and reallocate as appropriate while reaching across regions to seek and provide lift as capacity allows.
- Monitor team and individual performance and provide regular feedback to team members and manager.
- Mentor and coach individuals to assist with performance achievement.
- Work with manager on employee development, including performance actions where appropriate.
- Communicate regularly and effectively across teams, including underwriting partners.
- Consult with and assist manager in ensuring service standards and other performance metrics are consistently maintained.
- Ability to mentor team and coach associates on various system and processing techniques.
- Maintain an emphasis on achieving Rating Operations performance excellence.
- Reinforce usage of technology, best practices and procedures.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate to the proper audience in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with business partners across the organization to address, resolve and prevent breakdowns in service.
- Participate in special assignments or projects as assigned.
- 3 to 5 years of Rating experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred (or equivalent business experience).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Prior supervisory or coaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to interact with managers and staff at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving Skills.
- Flexibility as the position grows and evolves.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
