Primary responsibilities are to serve as patient resource to collect all necessary paperwork and enroll qualified patients in THCC’s Discounted Service program. Explain and assist patients in understanding all THCC general information and guidelines. Serve as patient resource to explain and assist patients in obtaining State provided programs such as Healthy Start, Food Stamps, cash assistance, and Medicaid.
As requested will act as a liaison to perform outreach activities to the community. Outreach activities may include attendance at healthcare advocacy meetings or participation in community events to provide education and informational materials on THCC services and programs.
Essential Functions
- Conduct THCC enrollment classes for all new patients and refresher updates for existing patients
- Review all THCC general information, i.e. locations, hours of operation, no-show policy, late policy, discount program
- Collect and assist patients with all required paperwork
- Determine patients slide discount
- Schedule patients next visit
- Explain guidelines of state sponsored programs (Healthy Start/Medicaid/Food Stamps)
- Determine if patient may qualify for Medicaid or other state sponsored programs
- Assist patients with enrollment and re-determination of state sponsored programs
- Enter all information obtained in the practice management system
- Scan and index all support documentation received from patient into NextGen
- Ensure compliance with all patient related 330 grant guidelines
- Follow up on all Medicaid applications:
- Update information in NextGen system
- Contact patient for application status update, missing or incomplete information
- Provide monthly status report on number of Medicaid applications completed and approved to Practice Manager
- Responsible for follow through and management on both of the following patient statuses: Medicaid pending & Wrap pending
- Ensure that all patients with expiring slide discounts are notified at least 45 days in advance
- Serve as an authorized representative with Job and Family Services to obtain applicant information to assist with enrollments and re-determinations.
- Collect and forward verification documents
- Provide non-compliance explanations
- Outreach activities may include attendance at healthcare advocacy meetings or participation in community events to provide education and informational materials on THCC services and programs
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years related experience
- Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications

Must possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with strong customer service skills and conflict resolution.
