Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry.
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in menu development by suggesting new sushi items or seasonal specials.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in the restaurant or food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
- Familiarity with various types of sushi, ingredients, and culinary techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail in meal preparation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for culinary arts, particularly Japanese cuisine.
- Previous experience in catering is a plus but not required.
