Job Summary   Executes the schedule of operational requirements in a manufacturing and distribution environment. The Lead I is a primary resource in meeting operational goals in productivity, quality, safety, and training for a small or relatively non-complex department. Serves as a back up to manufacturing supervisor / Lead IV.   Essential Job Functions *   Leads by communicating with supervisor to determine department priorities, personnel needs, machinery issues Etc.; identifying and correcting standard / disciplinary problems, elevating when necessary, and participating in graduated disciplinary process; ensuring assigned group has training / certification necessary to accomplish assigned tasks; serves as a resource to team members – answers questions and resolves operating problems and provides constructive feedback to employees; enforcing Standard Operation Procedures and suggesting improvements as needed; being accountable for production goals and addressing them with team and aligns resources to eliminate potential errors. Achieves Production / Operational Results by leading assigned group to meet or exceed productivity targets for processes/equipment by executing provided schedule; accurately completing a wide range of departmental metric tracking as required; reporting inconsistencies (i.e., inventory, process) and operating barriers to supervisor and other exempt levels as required. Is a direct resource to influence and define resolution paths; trouble shooting equipment to determine if / when to contact maintenance; utilizing available resources responsibly to accomplish jobs without waste. Ensures Quality by serving as a liaison with manufacturing resources to coordinate efforts in inspection of products, assemblies, or machines to ensure that they meet requirements; being accountable for Outgoing and End of Line Audit results, addresses them with team, and aligns resources to eliminate potential errors. Ensures Safety by promoting Safety / Housekeeping throughout department and plant; following safety policies and procedures; reports unsafe conditions to supervisor; utilizing Job Hazard Analysis as a safety training resource and collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering and Supervision to maintain them; and working with the Safety Committee to implement recommendations.   * This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail required. Must demonstrate ability to establish and work from verbal and written instructions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team to meet production goals. Flexibility/Initiative/Cooperation – Proactive, self-motivated, and persistent in approach to assignments; Looks for additional assignments when work is completed; Willingly cooperates with and treats all coworkers with respect & dignity; Displays a positive attitude about the company; Contributes to achievement of team goals and objectives.    Communication – Effectively and appropriately interacts with others to build relationships; Actively listens and learns through observation; Asks clarifying questions; Treats others with respect. Customer Focus – Responsive to customer requests; Keeps customers up to date and well informed; Takes pride in delivering high quality service.   Operational Equipment   N/A Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment Packaging - Key: Fast-paced up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Function vision and hearing required. May participate in HCP. Physical Demands Packaging - Hand: Light, lifting up to 50 lbs.
