Network Data Center Engineer
Our client is seeking a Network Data Center Engineer for project-based work in a hybrid role requiring 2–3 days onsite each week in Salem, NH. This opportunity is ideal for someone who brings hands-on experience with Juniper technologies—particularly Apstra—and is comfortable working across complex data center environments. The right candidate will be skilled in designing and implementing scalable, modern network architectures with a focus on automation, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement customized Juniper-based data center solutions based on customer needs
- Configure and manage Juniper Apstra for intent-based networking and automated infrastructure workflows
- Gather and assess client requirements to develop infrastructure recommendations and plans
- Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and scope are met
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in high-performance data center environments
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including diagrams and configurations
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project delivery
- Provide training and support to client teams on system use and best practices
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience working with Juniper Networks hardware in data center environments (QFX, EX, MX series)
- Hands-on experience with Juniper Apstra and deep understanding of intent-based networking and SDN
- Strong familiarity with network protocols including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, and MPLS
- Experience designing and managing spine-leaf and three-tier architectures
- Knowledge of integrating on-prem networks with public cloud environments like AWS or Azure
- Proficiency in automation and scripting tools such as Python or Ansible
- Exposure to additional platforms like Cisco ACI or Arista CVP is a plus
- Experience with network performance and monitoring tools
- Relevant Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIE-DC, JNCIA-Junos) preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with shifting priorities
