Key Responsibilities
- Swap out existing equipment, including power down of existing equipment, un-racking and un[1]stacking the existing equipment, rack and stack of new equipment, and power up of new equipment
- Work within a server room environment, potentially high ambient background noise
- Occasional heavy lifting required. Lifting server/storage equipment and moving around DC cabinets and other accessories
- Perform routine required inspections of equipment placed high up in server cabinets and rack
- Run fiber, power and Ethernet cabling to specifications
- Coordinate / Engage with and support third party vendors
- Creating/Attaching labels to cable infrastructure
- Perform cabinet/cage audits
- Install Blade/Card, Memory, Hard Drives, and Transceiver installations or removal
- Testing and troubleshooting of copper and fiber optic cables/ports
- Install and remove storage arrays, shelves and disks
- Perform migrations of equipment, power, or networking device
- Predictive on-site Wireless surveys/assessments utilizing Ekahau tools
- Install wireless access points
- Rack and install UPS and PDU devices into data center racks
- Basic Networking removal/installation and clearing of configurations
- Provide site survey support for infrastructure projects, as well as large space, power, equipment and Wi-Fi deployments.
- Documenting cut sheets, topologies, network configs, etc.
- Ability to work all shifts including some nights and weekends
- Excellent written and oral skills, clear and concise, keeps manager informed of work progression at sensible intervals.
- Regularly takes time and attends regular formal or informal training to maintain and upgrade knowledge, skill, and performance levels
- Travel - up to 30% at customer locations mostly in the New England region

- Associates degree in IT Related field or related experience
- Technical background in Storage, Compute and Networking Technologies
- MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, or equivalent
