Job brief
Our team is looking for an experienced construction project superintendent to manage our projects. You will be responsible for onsite supervision, execution of the project plan, CPM schedule compliance, resource management, code compliance, and quality control. You’ll supervise our subcontractors and ensure projects are delivered on time. This role requires excellent communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with various people, such as owners, construction workers, architects, and engineers. In order to succeed, it’s important to know how to implement quality control methods, and safety standards onsite. If you are organized, able to work well under pressure and have experience in this field, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with owners, architect, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to execute and develop project plans
- Help set and achieve job CPM schedules and deadlines, including scheduling vendors or trades to meet schedule
- Plan construction processes
- Track and understand job budget
- Supervise subcontractors and onsite personnel
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Obtain construction permits and plan inspections from local authorities
- Implement and maintain safety and quality guidelines
- Coordinate equipment, deliveries, and arrange for regular maintenance
- Keep track of material stock and orders
- Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
- Resolve on-site issues and emergencies
Requirements and skills
- Previous experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar role
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
- Familiarity with construction drawings
- Functional understanding in MS Office, BlueBeam Revu, BuilderTrend or other project management software
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to lead a jobsite, and encourage and build trade relationships
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar field; Master’s degree is a plus
