Summary of Position:
The Racquet Sports Teaching Professional engenders a love for racquet sports in players at every level. Teaching Professionals drive revenues by creating relationships with students who continue to grow competitively in skill and remain loyal to the Club Racquet Sports programming.
Supervision Exercised:
No supervisory responsibility
Supervision Received:
Reports to Director of Racquet Sports
Knowledge and Skills
Deep comprehension of and experience playing and teaching racquet sports.
Ability to relate to, motivate, and teach students in all age groups and at all skill levels.
Skilled in teaching both individual learners and groups of learners
Able to design and implement lessons for all ages and skill levels.
Education and Work Experience
Current USPTA Certification
Minimum 3 years of professional racquets instruction experience
Accomplished in competitive play
Tasks / Responsibilities
Build clientele of racquets students
Design progressive lesson plans and deliver them
Instruct students at all skill levels in every age group
Develop competitive racquets players
Client billing
Organize and implement new racquets programming
Inspect facility and report any maintenance needs to the Engineering dept.
Support administrative staff in Racquets office when needed
Set up partners for players as needed
Work Environment
To perform successfully as a Racquets Teaching Professional, and employee is required to execute the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Employees in this position will be required to work in a year-round, outdoor tennis and racquet sports environment. Racquets Teaching Professionals deliver instruction on lighted hard courts, often in extreme temperatures, direct sunlight and inclement weather.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to physically perform all stances, strokes, swings, positions and approaches associated with the discipline of modern tennis.
Must be able to sit, squat, bend, rotate, walk, run, and shift weight from one hip to the other.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs on a frequent basis.
